Moonstone Sterling Silver Dream Catcher Pendant

£27.00

Our Moonstone Sterling Silver Dream Catcher Pendant (chain not included) is perfect for everyday wear.

This stunning pendant features a small, round, cabochon Moonstone, at the center of a beautifully detailed dream catcher, with three dangly feathers. This pendant is dainty and is ideal for women and girls of all ages.

Dream catchers were traditionally made by native american cultures using a willow hoop with a woven net or web and included sacred items such as feathers or beads. They were hung over babies cribs for protection and it was also believed that dream catchers would protect babies and children from nightmares by trapping them in their webs while dreams would flow right through.

Perfect as a gift for a loved one or a little treat for yourself.

All Silver Scene jewellery comes lovingly packaged in a gift box.

If you'd like a chain with this pendant please click here for our full range of Sterling Silver chain designs. We would recommend a thinner chain with this pendant, for example our Fine Belcher, Fine Snake or Fine Curb chain. Chain shown in picture: Fine Belcher Chain.

Please be aware, that as purchased separately, they will arrive packed in separate boxes. If you'd like them packed together in one box, please let us know in the notes section at the checkout.

About the stone

Moonstone is the birthstone for June and the gem associated with the 3rd wedding anniversary.

Moonstone is the most valuable stone from the feldspar group. A billowy blue colour becomes visible when the stone is rotated in front of a light source. This effect, called adularescence, is caused by the inter growth of another feldspar in oriented positions within the main mass of the moonstone. Common locations where moonstone deposits can be found include Sri Lanka, Brazil, Madagascar, India, Germany, Tanzania, Mexico, Australia, and the United States. The rarest forms come from Sri Lanka.

Moonstone is known as the stone of new beginnings. It has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, including ancient civilizations. The Romans believed that moonstone was born from solidified rays of the moon. In ancient times, moonstone was said to be able to elicit deep passion between lovers. It was also thought to give the wearer the ability to predict the future and good fortune.

Moonstone is thought to be a very calming stone. It’s deeply feminine and is believed to help stabilize hormones. It enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business matters. It’s a very protective stone especially for travelers who travel at night or upon water.
