Silver Scene's Third shop - Brighton
After expanding to Bristol, owners Marcus and Trudi had their eyes set on another shop in The Lanes, Brighton. The city is best known for its buzz of creativity and independent shops. Nicknamed 'London by the Sea', Brighton is one of the UK's most popular destinations, the perfect choice for Trudi and Marcus to set up another successful shop.
They opened up the store in October 2006, managed by the one and only Silver Scene legend, Fiona. The Lanes was previously an old fishing town. Nowadays it is a fantastic collection of shops known as Brighton's jewellery quarter, and the 'in place' to be! Only a few hundred meters from the beach, with a warren of shops, it is a jewellery shoppers paradise!

To be cohesive with Brighton's bustling street art, in July 2019, we had local artist; Will Barras paint beautiful murals in the shop. With a jewellery inspired scene, Will was able to capture the essence of Brighton coupled with the uniqueness of Silver Scene, creating a beautiful piece of art, right there in one of our shops! The more you look, the more amazing details you see! It sure adds to the memorable shopping experience with Silver Scene.

History of Brighton - The Lanes
The Lanes was part of the Brighthelmstone settlement in 1750, when it was believed that the sea water had powerful medical qualities. It was promoted to bathe and to drink the sea water of Brighton, making the place a popular destination for weekend trips. Prince Regent made Brighton one of his homes, he also used secret underground tunnels from his palace to the beach.

Above the underground passages, the bustling Lanes filled with antique shops, after the fishermen found this industry to be more profitable. By 1960, The Lanes was an established community of second-hand dealers.
Known as the 'original Brighton', the beautiful medieval cobbled streets is now the perfect place to shop till you drop!

Meet the Manager - Fiona
What do you love about working for Silver Scene ltd?
'I love the amazing product we make and sell, the quality is fantastic, I love our designs and our stones are beautiful.
I love our customers, they're always so nice and they're complimentary about the product and about our shops, which makes us feel good.
I love that it is an independently owned business. And I love that all the staff are friends, even though we're in 5 different towns and cities.'
What's your favourite stone?
'It's hard to pick favourites as I love so many, but ones I never get tired of are Amber, Labradorite and Larimar. I have many pieces of jewellery featuring these stones in my personal collection from Silver Scene.'

Do you have a favourite type of jewellery?
'I do wear it all, but I tend to wear mostly rings and pendants, which I'm favouring on long chains right now. I have a collection of plain Silver bracelets that I permanently wear and have taken me years to get that 'right' combination. Earring wise I'm lazy so I usually keep in hoops.'

How long have you worked for Silver Scene ltd?
'I've been with the company for 20+ years, so I'm the OG Silver Scene girl. I started in the Taunton store when it opened and moved to the Brighton store around 12 years ago. I've helped set up each new store as it has been opened and I've spent time working in all 5 stores over the years, whether for a few days or a few weeks at a time.'

Tell us something you love about the town/city your store is in.
'I love that Brighton is very Liberal and accepting. There are so many independent shops, there's so much to do here and so many places to eat and drink. It's by the sea so that's great. The city has some beautiful buildings. And the pier doughnuts are lush...just be careful the seagulls don't steal them as you're eating, that's not so nice.'
