About the stone
Amethyst is the birthstone for February and the horoscope stone for Pisces. Its name comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning “not drunken,” as it was once believed to protect against intoxication.
Historically linked with royalty, it was once considered as valuable as diamonds, rubies and sapphires. Today it is known as a calming stone believed to help ease stress, clear negative thoughts and support emotional balance.
