About the stone
Garnet is the birthstone for January and the horoscope stone for Scorpio. Its name comes from the Latin word granatum, meaning "seed", inspired by its resemblance to the red seeds of a pomegranate. Traditionally known as the "stone of commitment", Garnet is associated with love, devotion, courage and hope, and is also said to symbolise deep and lasting friendship.
