About Iolite
Iolite is the traditional gemstone for a 21st anniversary and is sometimes known as "Viking's Compass" due to its historical use by Viking navigators. Its name comes from the Greek word ios, meaning violet. Traditionally, Iolite is associated with creativity, self-expression and inspiration.
