About the stone

Amethyst is the birthstone for February and the horoscope stone for Pisces. Its name comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning “not drunken,” as it was once believed to protect against intoxication. Historically linked with royalty, it was once considered as valuable as diamonds, rubies and sapphires.
