About the stones

Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz is the horoscope stone for Libra and Capricorn. It is also the National Gem of Scotland and has been considered a sacred stone there for a long time, a belief dating back to the Druids. Smoky Quartz has been used in jewellery and amulets since Egyptian times and has been used for protection and healing by many civilizations.

Smokey Quartz is a highly protective stone and is thought to be a great antidote to stress. It is believed to relieve fear, lift depression and bring emotional calmness. Mentally, Smokey Quartz is thought to promote positive, pragmatic thought and helps with concentration, dissolves contradictions and alleviates communication difficulties.

Citrine

Citrine is the horoscope stone for Virgo. 

Most Citrine is mined in Brazil but can be found all over the world. The name Citrine comes from an old French word "citrin," meaning lemon. 

According to Chinese legends, Citrine is "The Stone of Success," and it should be given to generous people only. Ancient Chinese emperors wore Citrine as they believed it would increase intellectual capabilities and broaden the mind. Today, Citrine is used by modern Chinese students to help them succeed on exams. Many Chinese professors and teachers also use it when lecturing.

Citrine is said to bring wealth and abundance. Its properties are also linked to creativity and is said to enhance mental clarity and activate imagination. It carries the power of the sun and is an exceedingly beneficial stone.
