About the stone:
Peridot is the birthstone for August. Formed deep within the Earth’s mantle and brought to the surface by volcanic activity, it is one of the few gemstones created far below the Earth’s crust. In Hawaiian legend, peridot is said to symbolise the tears of Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes.
Favoured since ancient times, the Egyptians called it the “sun gem” and believed it offered protection. Peridot is also thought to encourage positivity, release negative emotions, and inspire growth and renewal.
